So... this took a while =D And I still can't draw sand. What made me think putting my people in a desert would make for easy backgrounds? Sand SUCKS.

Anyway. This~ is part of a new project, mostly because Small World, which is currently hanging over my bed, is getting on a bit. It's three years old. So yeah, replacing it with something BIGGER and SPIFFIER and with 100% MORE TABLET. Basically, scenes of Raykin. Some will have buildings. Probably half buildings, half natural setting.

So here's natural setting number one, Middle of Freaking Nowhere. I was going to put a desert person on the right going "ooh" at the big open nothing, but then I got lazy. Not sure I could have fitted him/her into the landscape properly anyway.

I like the big spinifex at the front, and the saltbush (I assume) behind it. Not fond of the sand, as I say, but meh. That'll improve. Maybe I'll have figured it out by the time I finish the other five and can go back and fix it.

For the curious, no I'm not telling you what the other five are going to be. You'll find out X) You can probably guess, anyway. Not like there are a whole lot of places to choose from in Raykin XD;

Also! Have some detail shots taken at 50% working size. It's A3 size at 300dpi, so I figured I'd spare your bandwidth just this once X3

*¬* Narti, this one is frikkin amazing, you just keep getting better and better. It looks more vibrant and beautiful than the actual photo you used as reference!

I love the sand, you did a great job on it, and all of the foliage looks so detailed and complicated with all of the lines and colours. I love the for-most mound, they grassy patch up on that bump really comes forward nicely. The shadows and lighting are so well done too!

I'm giving you a long comment at DA, but DAMN I love this. You are doing so well with that tablet and stuff.
