Yan in Flight

First time actually drawing Yan's full wingspan, woo! I wanted to take up the full A4 with this so corner to corner it is. Yan himself is about 5cm big in the middle. At full res he doesn't even take up the full screen. So bat wings, obvs, though he's always had all four fingers spread and I just learned through finding references of fruit bats that they have their index and middle fingers, like, practically joined together. Yan does not. My reasoning for this, other than that I've clearly never noticed this on the, like, two occasions I've ever drawn his wings, is that he's a human and therefore needs more strength in the wings to keep him aloft. Also, because his wings end at the hip rather than go all the way down his legs like a bat, more structure is needed.

Yan often takes off shirt and cloak to just go flying. Even after a thousand years, it still brings him joy and makes him feel free. Maybe not quite alive, but like he could be.
