Naraan Character Reference

Naraaaaaaaan <3 I love him. Every time I do anything with him I have this niggle of '...what if I didn't kill him, tho?' And I know why he has to cark it, be a totally different story if he didn't, but... what if I want to write that story where everyone's happy and Nol's not traumatised? What if I just wrote that, huh?
Anyway. Naraan! God look at his dumb happy grin. Naraan likes his silks and patterns and bright colours, splashes of expensive white here and there, and yet goes barefoot. I was about to start looking up sandal ideas but nah, Naraan feels like a barefoot at the pub kinda guy, even with his silks and patterns. Naraan's a huge show-off, but he's just such an awesome dude you don't mind. I love Naraan :<
SWORD Naraan's dad was killed in battle when Naraan was one. After the battle, the queen of Sirrona ordered all the skulls of the slaughtered Raykinians be lined up along the border as a warning. As a result of the battle, Naraan's mum raised him and his siblings as a single parent. She was a weaver ('was' because of course Naraan paid her way after he got into First Company. She's still alive) and Naraan wanted to honour both his parents in his sword! So, skull for his dad, intricate leather weaving and some sort of weaving tool for his mum. All in opal because I haven't given anyone opal yet and an opal skull just looks cool.
SALTY Named because he likes saltbush :D And his patterning isn't at all why Nol picked Mongrel from the lineup, nope, not at all.
