Rumal Character Reference

[Original]
Rumal, the fake bougie bastard of the Own. He grew up south of the Main Road, Ni-Yana's dodgy underbelly, where he earned the four scars on the back of his right wrist for petty theft. Even when he got into the Own, people would always look at those scars and he knew they were judging him for it, so he dresses Rich. Like, capital R, Rich. White silk sash, natural golden silk with woven-in pattern in the cloth, four frigging gold chains, gold studs in the ears... and people still ask about the scars. He used to try and cover them up, with a bandage or a scarf or wristwrap or something, but found that attracted more comment than just scars, so now he tends to hide them more descreetly, either with his other hand or stuffing his hand in his pocket. I just always show them front and centre because just about every time I've drawn him has been as a character reference. Anyway, now he has a missing finger so that's what attracts comment nowadays but, given the hand it's on, the comment is inevitably, 'How did you lose it? Addition to the scars or on a mission?' Dude can't catch a break.
The rest of the Own, Kaen especially, tease him for wearing all the expensive everything but he knows he looks good.
SWORD Unchanged just updated, with Lin's flower as the sapphire-encrusted pommel, and Aeia's flower as the gold and copper guard--flowers of life and death right there in his hands. It's so cliché and Rumal he had to keep them. Leather on his hilt and the top of the scabbard almost black because he's been in the Own for close to a decade and a half, keeps the copper on the blade as polished and shiny as he can but the scabbard's well and truly tarnished.
LIGHTFOOT Unchanged except she's a makaki now, white face and socks with black mane and tail. She looks down on everyone, especially camels, and is the flyer (mother figure) of the Own's mob. She and Kurae's Charcoal lead the mob, which is probably how Kurae and Rumal have become friends.
